He´s our hero

Me, Cassie, Krista and Allie had our first Captain Planet eco-day in my site yesterday. And it was fantastic! I´m Agua Asombrosa (Amazing Water), Cassie is Aire Aventuroso (Adventurous Air), Krista is Tierra Tremenda (Tremendous Earth) and Allie is Fuego Fantastico (Fantastic Fire). We took over the school for the whole day, even wore costumes to reflect our personalitites, and did fun activities and games with the kids related to our elements. It was fantastic. We also invited a snake expert dude who we´d seen at a previous PC conference and is awesome. So after lunch the kids learned about snakes and how to tell the difference between venomous snakes and harmless snakes so hopefully they won´t just kill them all. And he brought a couple snakes with him and I even held one. Go me. The whole day was amazing and went really well and it was our first one so now we know how it will go. The goal is to do one eco-day every month in different sites. Next month we´re going to try to go to Veraguas. It´s awesome. :) So I feel really good about that.

I started my physical therapy so unfortunetely will be out of my site for the next two weeks to finish that. Peace Corps doesn´t have a physical therapist in my province so I have to travel to another town and hence why I can´t just go for the appointment and return home every day. Electro therapy. It feels very strange. But hopefully will reduce the swelling in my ankle.

The rainy season has now started. Torrential downpours are back. Roads are back to mud. Good times. Although I have to say I really didn´t miss the rainy season. I quite enjoyed the sun.

Almost a year in country! Happy Mother´s Day!!! Much love to all, hope everything is well. :)
