Agua Asombrosa!

Well things are just moving right along down here in the south. :) The rainy season has started with full force. And just when a couple days pass with some kind of rainy schedule to them and you plan your next day accordingly to avoid the rain, it changes its mind and you get soaked again. This would be the time of year to just suck it up and live wet. Or be smart and always carry your umbrella. A very large umbrella. :) And take your clothes to the laundrymat to be washed and DRYED cause otherwise there's no hope in the drying part and they will get mildewy. But, on the plus side, it really is quite beautiful this time of year. It's amazing to watch the world turn just greener and greener and greener and all the beautiful flowers that spring up again. And sometimes if you don't want to talk to on the phone anymore it's easy to say it's raining too hard and you can't hear the person anymore so you gotta go. Yay for deafening rain-on-tin-roofs. ;)
My dog is doing fantastically well. Growing quick and big and very playful. He's caught up on his shots now until the next year. And I just love him. My little Loki. Having a dog has made me a happier volunteer. :)
The awesome Captian Planet team toured again, this time in the province of Chiriqui. This is the province furthest west that borders Costa Rica. We visited two communities there and both went really well. We also got a new member to our team, Animal Animada, so it makes the scheduling nicer with another person so we can all work with smaller groups. It was also nice to visit Chiriqui and see a different part of the country. And to see where two other volunteers live. Next month we're hitting the Azuero peninsula to do 5 sites, so that should be fun. Probably exhausting, but also fun. :) It really is a great group to be part of, I love it. And so far all the feedback from the kids and teachers has been positive.
Things in my site are also good. Pretty much same ole same ole. Working in the school and the reforestation group, planning more activities with the kids in the environmental youth group. People have been asking me about English classes again so I'll probably do that in the summer season when school's out so I won't be leaving so much to do Captain Planet business. So yes, all is good.
That's all I can think of right now. I'm in the city again to complete my root canal (4 appointments spread over 4 weeks... gotta love Panamá). I'm trying to upload pictures while I'm here so check the links on the right for new albums, including Ecuador, more pictures of Loki, and some photos from when my friend Jenni was here visiting. Enjoy! Hope all is well up there! :)
