Vacations
I went to the states for my first vacation. First time leaving Panama since I got here. And it was fantastic. It was so amazingly wonderful to see everyone after a year (or more) and just relax and catch up and go to a beautiful, perfect wedding and get to hang out in New York again. Loved it! Then I got robbed on the way home through Costa Rica but oh well, nothing I can do about it now. Working on getting new identifications, including a new official passport. Of course I had to get a temporary one to leave CR but I need a new one with a later expiration date to get a sufficient visa. Blah. Now I'm back in good ole Panama City doing my one year medical check up because that's right, I have now been an official Peace Corps Volunteer for one year. As of Saturday. Remember that when I got here I was only a trainee for 10 weeks and didn't swear in as an official PCV until July 26th, 2007. So one year down. And probably more than one to go. :) Then next week I fly to Ecuador! I get to visit Alicia! I'm super excited. My first time to South America. :) I will be there for a week then it's back home and back to work! School is on a two week vacation now so they'll be starting up again right when I get back. And we've also got more Captain Planet dates scheduled out through like February. And HIV/AIDS workshops in high schools. Lots of good stuff. I'm excited. It's a good down time right now with lots of breaks and vacations but I'll be ready to get moving again. And Loki is doing fantastically well. He's growing really well and is very active and playful. It's so nice to wake up and have a little puppy so excited to see you. Even if he does have awful puppy breath. :-p Just gotta look into getting vaccinations as I don't know when to do those. And when to get him fixed. So yes, life in Panama is still wonderful. Miss you all. Hugs! :)
