Finally leaving!
We fly to Panama tomorrow! :D I'm in DC right now. Flew in on Friday, got to go up to NY with Steve-O and see everyone there one last time before I go. It was a blast, I'm really glad I was able to make that trip. Good family I tell ya, I'm gonna miss them (and everyone). :) Staging (back in DC) was yesterday and today. It was good. The main point of it (I think) was to meet the rest of the people in this Panama posse (it kind of reminded me of RA training). There are 34 of us, split pretty evenly between the Sustainable Agriculture Systems program and mine (Community Environmental Conservation). There are 5 married couples, which is super high for the normal group. But it's cool, it's a good group. So we all fly down to Panama tomorrow! Our flight leaves at like 2 p.m. Panama time is currently equal with the Central Time Zone (1 hour behind east coast) but they don't do daylight savings time, so once fall-back arrives they are in the same time zone as the east coast. Our staging is based out of Santa Clara, which is a little beach town about one hour to the west of Panama City (on the Pacific side of the country). It's supposed to be beautiful, so I'm excited. Although it is the rainy season down there. Of course, the rainy season is from April-December so really, it's always rainy and there's a small dry spell at the beginning of the year. :-p But yea, that's the current low-down. I'm not sure how often I'll get to post once I'm there, but probably more often in the first 10 weeks (training) than when I get to my site. I'm so excited! It's finally here and happening and I'm on my way! Weeeeee! :) But I love you all and will miss you!

You're going to do amazing things down there, and you're going to have adventures unlike any other. I look forward to keeping up with your journey as technology and time allow. Bien Viaje!
